Day 7

Today was fun, really fun. We started off our morning skyping with Suzy, Pearl, Charlotte and Aunt Sarah…seeing those cute faces and hearing our girls voices make us so happy. They are so stinking cute! We said our goodbyes and ran downstairs to meet our driver to go to the orphanage. Max and I played lion, soldier, and shipwreck in the weeds. ..we loved it!  Max is facing a big change. He is too little to say, “Leaving this orphanage is all I have known for the last two years, I don’t want any more changes in my life!” Sweet boy, “change” is going to be your middle name but I promise to try to understand and help you every step of the way.
The big boys played some computer games and then we all played soccer outside…it was a blast.  The Gardniers were there and we had a pretty fun game going. Kevin’s leg aches and John pulled something so I am going to say the kids won.
I know it seems like we are just waiting around but we kind of are just waiting around. We have our first official orphanage meeting tomorrow. We will meet with the director of the orphanage and hopefully get a clearer picture of the boys background. We will also meet with the orphanage doctor and get their current medical reports. Once we have all these papers complied, we sign and they go back to Kiev. Once processed in Kiev we will get a court date. This is the big deal day. Judge, jurors and prosecutors decide if we are fit parents and if the adoption can continue. We have come this far and nothing can hold us back! (and we have an AWESOME facilitator, Sausha in our corner)
We celebrated with the Bethany, John and Amanda tonight for dinner…they take Dema/Alex out of the orphanage TOMORROW!
Kevin is a true Papa…he hacked Sergei’s Russian facebook account.  J

  1. I like the FB hacking - our rule is that if we are not your FB friend you don't have a FB account! We want to give the Gardiners a big welcome home! Tell them to have a safe trip and let us know when they arrive!

  2. I second the motion that the boys won! This is when we ask ourselves "how did we get so old so fast?", right guys?? Sounds like the waiting time is just as joyous as it can be. Love you guys!
